Where is the Delphi UM Church?

1796 North US Hwy 421, Delphi  IN 46923

Yahoo map  We are 1 mile south of the main stop light in downtown Delphi.  And we are just south of the High School baseball field (just past yellow flashing light).

Where do I enter the building for worship?

We have a Main Entrance at the middle of the building with 2 sets of double doors.  These doors will lead you into the Rotunda area where someone will greet you and show you around the building!

Where do I park?

We have around 150 parking spaces (most on blacktop and some on gravel) on the east side of the building.

What is available for my children?

We have a staffed nursery from 8:30am to 12:30pm for newborns up to age 3 that is located in the south part of the building (turn left once you enter the building).  They have a sign-in and sign-out procedures as well as a pager system to give to caregivers.

We have Sunday School at 10am for Preschool (ages 3 to 5) and School age (6 to 12) in the Children's Area (called "The Children's Tree House").

We have a children's sermon/message as a part of every service where the children (ages 3 to 5th grade) are welcome to go up front to the platform to hear what is being said.  After this message, the children (ages 3 to 3rd grade; sometimes 4th to 5th grades too) have the option of going to the Children's Area for the remainder of service.  The children are also welcome to go back to their seats with you!

What happens during the service?

Our Traditional service at 8:45am includes more traditional hymns, Choir during School year, Bell Choir (once per month), Lord's prayer recited in unison at end of prayer time, and Doxology song at the end of offering (we all stand and sing together).

Our Contemporary service at 11am includes songs heard on Christian radio, shaking of hands & greeting of those around you at the beginning of service.  (If you arrive at 11am or after, you might need an usher's help in finding a seat.  Our recommendation, arrive by 10:45am to get your choice of seat!)

How does the congregation observe Communion?

We observe Communion in various ways, usually on the first Sunday of the month.  Our most used method of offering Communion is for each person to walk forward to the front of the worship area and kneel at one of the altars.  At that time, you will be handed your bread and juice to consume.  Lastly, you will be dismissed with prayer along with others around you at the altar, then the next group will fill the altars until everyone has been served.

What is the church office's phone # if I have other questions?
